Case Study: Dubai South Site Preparation

The Challenge

One of the UAE's largest main contractors secured a fast-track project for a new 50,000 sq. metre logistics hub in Dubai South. The brief called for expert site preparation covering the entire “zero cycle” on a tight deadline: massive-scale land leveling to prepare the ground for a super-flat warehouse foundation, followed by a critical soil compaction phase before the concrete team could mobilise.

Our Approach

Phase 1: Land Clearing & Bulk Earthworks

We began with land clearing and initial earthmoving, deploying our heavy-duty CAT D9 bulldozer for bulk pushing, supported by the more agile CAT D6 for finer shaping around the site perimeter.

Phase 2: Precision Land Grading

Once the site was cleared, our CAT 120M motor grader took over, working to GPS guidance for a final, precise leveling pass accurate to within roughly ±15mm — the tolerance a super-flat warehouse slab demands.

Phase 3: Compaction

The final step was compaction: a fleet of Bomag vibratory smooth-drum rollers worked the surface to the specified density, giving the foundation team a stable, tested base to build on.

The Result

By running site preparation, grading and compaction as one turnkey program instead of three separate contracts, we handed the site back 4 days ahead of schedule — letting the client start foundation work immediately.
